Turkey Lettuce Wraps
These turkey lettuce wraps are a healthy recipe that is not lacking in flavor. They will rival lettuce wraps from the best restaurants, and they are so easy to make!
Servings: 4 people
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb lean ground turkey
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 onion diced
- 1 medium red bell pepper diced
- 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce low sodium
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp Sriracha more or less to taste
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 8 oz can water chestnuts drained and diced
- 3 green onions diced
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add turkey and crumble while cooking for approximately 5 minutes, or until browned.
Add minced garlic, diced onion, diced pepper, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, sriracha and salt and pepper. Cook for approximately 5 more minutes or until peppers are slightly tender and onions are beginning to become translucent.
Add diced water chestnuts and green onions and cook while stirring for about 3 more minutes.
Remove from heat and put approximately 1/3 cup into each lettuce leaf. Wrap it up similar to a taco and enjoy!
